if we really think about okay how can we improve people's mental health it goes beyond doing therapy or being a psychiatrist it even goes beyond making content and it's really like working with some of these other organizations to make a larger scale impact

if knowledge gets in the way of the acquisition of more knowledge there's a really great analogy of this that's like an old meditation analogy about you know there's a student who comes to his teacher and he's studied with like a lot of different people and the teacher is trying to teach him stuff and then the student is like but this guy said this and this guy said this and this guy said this and so the the teacher says bring me two cups bring me a cup of water and a cup of milk and he says okay now take the cup of milk and pour it into the cup of water and the student is like it's gonna that's not going to work and he's like just do it so he starts adding the milk and then everything overflows and so the cup the teacher is like look it's fine if you want to learn from me but the first thing you've got to do is empty your cup

the more logic you have the more you have a preconceived notion the harder it is to understand so there's something weird going on with faith where like the more faith you have and the more ignorant you have the more you surrender the easier it is to to proceed along the spiritual path

the prerequisites to success are exactly the prerequisites to getting screwed

the more focused you are like literally as you were one-pointed there is no space for judgment and so all of that past knowledge starts to disappear while you are doing the practice
